    Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance
     

    The Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) was established at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in April 2009 by the Shanghai Municipal Government.

    Mission
    SAIF's mission is to become a world class institution of research and advanced learning in finance and management. SAIF is committed to developing top talent and cutting-edge knowledge, with a focus on Chinese markets and their global connections.

    Faculty and Research
    Our world-renowned faculty, with over 60 members, is drawn from both academia and industry from around the world. All faculty hold Ph.D. degrees from top universities and over two thirds were tenured at world-class research universities before joining SAIF. Our faculty have in-depth research expertise and teaching experience. We aim to generate a substantive impact upon academic, applied, and policy research.

    In parallel to SAIF, the China Academy of Financial Research (CAFR) is an elite think tank focusing on policy and applied theoretical research in relation to China's financial reform and development. Since its establishment in 2009, CAFR has spearheaded a number of applied, policy, and government-sponsored research initiatives. CAFR is staffed by our own full-time faculty and affiliated research fellows. It has generated a number of major research findings ? attracting both domestic and international attention.

    SAIF offers a comprehensive set of programs specialized in finance, including the following degree and non-degree programs.

    Masters of Finance (MF) – English
    Finance Masters of Business Administration (Finance MBA) – English / Mandarin Chinese
    Finance Executive Masters of Business Administration (Finance EMBA) – Mandarin Chinese / English
    Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Global Financial Management* – Mandarin Chinese / English
    Ph.D. and MS-Ph.D. – Mandarin Chinese / English

    Non-degree Program:
    Executive Education (EE) – Mandarin Chinese
    * The DBA program is in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), and the degree is awarded by ASU.

    International Collaboration
    SAIF has developed international collaboration with world-class business schools, including the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the MIT Sloan School of Management, University of California, Berkeley, Imperial College London, and Arizona State University. SAIF offers a variety of educational study tours and international exchange opportunities to provide students with cutting-edge knowledge in finance and management, expand their global perspectives, and facilitate multicultural collaborations.

    Accreditation
    SAIF earned the international accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) on February 28, 2016. SAIF is among the youngest AACSB-accredited business schools in the world. AACSB accreditation represents the highest standards in business education and has only been earned by less than 5 percent of the world's business schools.

    Ranking
    In 2018, SAIF MF program continues to hold No. 1 position in the Financial Times' annual ranking of the best MF programs in Asia, after leading the ranking for the previous two years. In this year’s ranking, SAIF MF program was also ranked No. 10 in the world, jumping 4 slots from 2017.
